Background
Helloworld Travel Limited (ASX:HLO) is a leading Australian and New Zealand travel distribution company, comprising retail leisure travel and business travel networks, travel broker networks, destination management services (inbound), air ticket consolidation, tourism transport operations, wholesale travel services, online operations, and event-based freight operations, all supported by world class proprietary and non-proprietary distribution systems. HLO has over 750 staff located in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Greece, and 2,400 members of its travel agency and broker networks in Australia and New Zealand (around 2000 physical agencies in Australia and NZ and around 400 mobile agents).
HLO has recently created a start-up entity (soon to be incorporated and named), the vision for which is to be the premier experience integration provider for ticketed sports and entertainment events globally, by providing a convenient, reliable and streamlined solution for fans trying to secure multiple components of their live event experience.
We currently have a small, but dedicated and focused team that has been laying the foundations. We are now looking to build the team with the addition of a few critical roles.
Position overview
The purpose of this role is to work closely with all members of the new business and the HLO Marketing and Graphic Design teams, to design, produce and deliver the execution of marketing schedules and campaigns in line with the company’s strategy and to showcase and promote the event and travel products available and upcoming, through the retail agents network, HLO’s wholesale brands and the digital channels of the new business (in development).
The key outcome of this role is to manage event and travel products stand-alone marketing and integration with the HLO network, from the marketing collateral required for the HLO agents and their online sales systems, to the marketing schedule/plan that we present to the event owner/promoter. You will also provide coordination of other advertising and promotional initiatives.
You need exceptional communication skills, and proficiency in computer programs and applications. This role requires a high level of creativity, solid organisational skills, and a willingness to collaborate with and between teams and partners. Digital communication experience and social media expertise are highly desirable.
What you’re accountable for?
- Work closely with the CEO, HLO Senior Marketing Executive, Product Development and Contracting and Procurement teams to assist with the execution of advertising and promotional campaigns to support the organisation’s retail agents, wholesale brands and the new brand and digital environments of the business.
- Work closely with event owner/promoter key staff and marketing/graphic teams to ensure production and delivery of the marketing schedule/plan, and the creation and correct usage of all marketing assets and collateral
- Be a subject matter expert for event and related travel product information
- Ensure all marketing and related deadlines that apply to the business are met daily
- Maintain relationships with the Product Development and Contracting and Procurement teams to ensure consistent alignment of promotional activity
- Support CEO and all of the new business teams to achieve flawless execution of campaigns and activities to achieve agreed KPI’s
- Work with peers to effectively communicate the activities across the organisation in a timely manner
- Manage Marketing campaigns in partnership with the HLO marketing and design teams with responsibility for:
- Alignment and coordination of Marketing campaign activities within the organisation’s broader marketing calendar
- Relevant approvals from partners/event owners/promoters and legal
- Providing agents/members required content through the creation and delivery of collateral and communications to amplify their local area marketing efforts. This can include but is not limited to advertising, direct mail, event marketing, sponsorships, and social and promotional campaigns
- Assistance to agents regarding placement of media, copy checking and artwork approval (normally on short turnaround times)
- Ensure all content, collateral, information, offers, and creative materials are accurate, ready in a timely manner and understood by agents/members prior to any marketing execution
- Co-ordinate the completion of Marketing campaign updates and reports in a timely manner
- Maintain updated files of projects and updated activity schedules
- Ensure any material created can be replicated for any agents or members – to avoid duplication of cost and effort in production of materials
- Process quotes and invoicing in a timely manner and ensuring that accruals are recorded against the budget
- Effectively work as part of the new events business team, display teamwork principles and positively contribute to the creation of a harmonious work environment
- Develop a strong working relationship with suppliers, agencies, partners, and agents/members to ensure flawless execution of campaigns
- Maintain a professional image when representing the business at external meetings and functions

Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business or a related discipline preferred.
Experience
- Working knowledge of the travel, events (sport, music, theatre) or related industry preferred
- Understanding of marketing distribution channels and processes and performance metrics advantageous
- Strong planning and organisational skills with a willingness to respond to changes quickly and a proven track record in delivering multifaceted projects is required
- Proactive with a hands on approach and a willingness to work within a team
- A proven track record in the creation and development of effective relationships within a marketing environment will be well regarded
- Strong attention to detail with proven analytical skills
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are mandatory
- Basic graphic design capability will be well regarded
- High degree of professionalism and integrity
Other considerations
Full time role in the marketing team based in Melbourne at Normanby Rd offices of HLO. Please note this is not a hybrid position.
