About the role:
This position reports to the General Manager of Finance – Retail, and is Full time, Onsite.
As our new Retail Accountant for New Zealand, you will assist the business make critical financial decision by collecting, tracking and reporting on the company’s finances for operations in New Zealand. You’ll be involved in financial audits, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring that financial records are accurate throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Financial Reporting
- Completes regular analysis and reviews of back-office data
- Monitors and manages data integrity
- Undertakes bank, trust and gift card reconciliations
- Prepares and provides commentary on the monthly P&L
- Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Business Excellence
- Monitors all payables to suppliers and assists in minimising expense/ identifying cost savings
- Monitors and reports on cash balances
- Identifies and explores initiatives that could improve business profitability and maximise financial performance
- Acts as the finance back-office expert within the business on day-to-day finance matters
Business Insights
- Provides meaningful insights through a comprehensive analysis of financial data as required
- Completes regular analysis and reviews of back-office data and seeks ways to improve process efficiency and data accuracy
- Assesses internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas, and reports any non-compliance event

The ideal and Successful candidate will possess the following:
- Degree qualified (Ideally, CPA/CA part/qualified)
- 3 to 5 years’ experience with high volume transaction business
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- Experience with D365 favourable but not mandatory
